A couple weeks ago, Substack (the platform I use to publish this newsletter) sent me an automatic email letting me know it’s been 3 months since my last post and that there are new subscribers who have never received a post from me in their inbox.
Three months!
Subscribing to a newsletter and not seeing a post for multiple months is not the ideal experience.
Not to make excuses, but I suspect that the many hours I’m spending on my laptop for work every day have led me to subconsciously avoid my laptop outside of work hours.
Therefore, no new posts.
But now, the subconscious has been made conscious and I’m here to share a few things.
First, I’m excited to share a recently published interview I recorded over the summer with Udit from Prepfully (his full time role is as a product manager at Booking.com).
Our conversation covered a range of topics, including my career path, challenges as a PM, skills that come handy, and some thoughts on preparing for PM interviews. Enjoy!
Carole and I also recently traveled to France and Italy for a combination of family time and vacation. We had the opportunity to spend a few days in the Italian Dolomites, hiking and enjoying incredible spots like Lake Sorapis below.
Highly recommend spending time in the Dolomites if you get a chance.
If you’re looking for some excellent television, I’ve been binge-watching For All Mankind on AppleTV+ and loving it.
I recently found this interview with Dr. Gabor Maté very meaningful. It’s about the interplay between childhood environments and later addiction and stress as an adult. The conversation also goes into the healing journey people can choose to explore in their own lives.
This conversation between Jordan Peterson, Jonathan Pageau, and Douglas Murray was fascinating to me. I’m not a religious person but there’s a pretty compelling case made that something akin to religious thinking might philosophically shape the lens through which we choose where to focus our attention.
That’s all for today, see you next time!
