It's been hard for me to get back to business as usual with my posts. I just never thought I would see the day when the populations of Western countries were materially divided between those who praise terrorists and those who condemn them.
We've completely underestimated the severity of the moral confusion experienced by millions in our societies.
Wanting peace is reasonable and normal. I want peace too.
But celebrating evil terrorist activity against civilians in the name of a greater good? That's morally wrong. Just wrong.
Rooting for the underdog is reasonable. At face value.
But celebrating a Hamas militant beheading a baby? That's not the victory of an underdog. That's the behavior of a villainous coward.
Wanting freedom and prosperity for the Palestinians is correct. I want that too.
But failing to see that Hamas is accountable for the situation in Gaza? That's willful blindness. Billions of USD have been funneled into Gaza and Hamas has seized it all like the mafia. Hamas leaders are billionaires, their people poor.
There's no moral equivalence here between Israel and Hamas.
- If Israel said "we're done fighting", Israel would be butchered.
- If Hamas said "we're done fighting", we'd have peace and Gaza would prosper.
